Made it!

Survived the Marathon of Pain with Norm and Michael (Katie didn't quite make it).

Time for sleep.

Long day getting longer

Even though we had a few cancellations, I'd say the first round of Papa Bear auditions went well. I think the plan is to meet up again next weekend to see if a second set of auditions is needed. It feels nice to be excited.

After the casting calls wrapped up at 5:00, I had another event to look forward to...

Geek in the City's Marathon of Pain!

Katie and Norm have a listening party for this podcast every Wednesday, but tonight's show is a 12-hour(!) live broadcast in order to raise money for the show. Yes, 12 hours. For some reason I thought it would be good idea to partake, despite the fact that I've been up since 6:00 AM yesterday.

So far, it's been a great show. And, like every week, there's a dinner (with loads of alcohol) to accompany the festivities.

Fried chicken & waffles sandwiches, with bacon & onions.

In addition to the chicken/waffle sandwiches, we also have spinach artichoke dip (with bacon), and sausage balls.

About 8 hours to go...

Papa Bear casting call: Day 1

Feeling surprisingly chipper, even though I woke up at 6:00 AM. The auditions for Papa Bear started at 10:00, and already it looks like we're going to have a good crowd. It's definitely going to be a long day, but I won't complain (for once).

I think being a part of this may be the motivation I finally need to get some of my projects going. Where to begin is going to be the tough part.

Oh Yeah...

I'm currently a casting assistant.

Just wanted to let you all know that I haven't, in fact, been doing nothing.

Back to reality

Christmas in (Palm Springs) California was rather terrific, but it's also (somewhat) nice to be back home.

Luigi seemed to enjoy the vacation, as well.

Another technology pioneer leaves us

First Steve Jobs (Oct. 5), then Dennis Ritchie (Oct. 12), now John McCarthy.

It's been a rocky month.

Shut up and take my money!

Ow, my ass...

I'd been on the fence about buying this ever since I first heard of it a few months back. But, honestly, I knew this purchase was inevitable. This album means far, far, too much to me.
